Biography

I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Jyväskylä with a background in industrial design. My work lies at the intersection of human–computer interaction and cognitive neuroscience, with a focus on how people perceive and interpret visual symbols in digital interfaces. Through behavioural research and magnetoencephalography (MEG), I study how semantic properties and aesthetic appeal influence the processing and interpretation of interface icons.

Research interests

My research contributes to understanding how people perceive, interpret, and respond to visual information in human–technology interaction (HCI). I am broadly interested in the cognitive and psychological mechanisms that underlie the processing of visual symbols, interface elements, and digitally mediated information. Drawing on psychological experimental design and cognitive neuroscience approaches, my work explores how perceptual, semantic, and affective factors shape understanding, decision-making, and user experience in interactive contexts.
