Biography

I work as a post-doctoral researcher in the Centre of Excellence for Learning Dynamics and Intervention research (InterLearn). My responsibilities include planning and implementation of the twolarge-scale follow-up studies of school children. In these studies we look at information processing skills (including perception, memory and attention) and brain processes, as well as emotional regulation, motivation and the school, family, friends and digital environment. Our research provides information to be utilized on the development of educational and teaching practices and effective forms of support. My research interests focus on motivation, self-determination theory, physical activity, learning-related emotions, and the development of academic skills from first grade until the end of primary school.

Research interests

My integrative research on motivation theories and behaviour change interventions provides tools for thinking, as well as practical advice for anyone who is considering a lifestyle change or wants to understand more generally the influences of her own or those of other people. My study helps to understand why New Year's resolutions are not often succeeded, and what is needed for permanent lifestyle change. My collaboration with private sector helps companies to apply this know-how in their own operations, bringing the lifestyle change practices into the daily life of their customers.
