Katarina Sjöblom

I defended my doctoral dissertation at the University of Jyväskylä in November 2023. In 2024, I worked as a lecturer in political science at the Swedish School of Social Science, an independent unit at the University of Helsinki. I am currently working in the project 'Reframing Restitution: Postcolonial Object Movement, Transnational History and Social Repair' led by Associate Professor Magdalena Zolkos. My research in the project deals with the politics connected to the return and reburials of ancestral remains, with a focus on Finland and other Nordic countries. More generally, my research interests include modern political theory, questions related to political freedom and equality, social movements, and the relation between artistic practices and politics.
