I have been serving as a University Lecturer in Accounting at the Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics since August 2021. Prior to this, I worked as a Lecturer at the University of Jyväskylä (2003-2004), held various positions at the University of Eastern Finland (2005-2013), and served as a Fixed-Term Professor and Teacher-Researcher at LUT University (2017-2020). I have also worked outside academia, including at the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority (2013-2015), where I was involved in the supervision of IFRS financial statements.
My doctoral dissertation examined IFRS standards from the perspective of Finnish accounting thought and was completed in 2010. In addition to my PhD, I hold a Master's degree in Social Sciences and a nursing qualification.
I teach group accounting, IFRS standards, and introductory accounting, and I supervise bachelor's and master's theses. My current research focuses on auditing, particularly on how auditors experience uncertainty and risk in their work, including detection risk. My research aims to generate new knowledge that can support the auditing profession from the perspective of psychological resources and resilience.
