Luis Gand

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Riikka Kivelä working on cancer cachexia. Before coming to JYU I have completed my doctoral studies at the Hannover Medical School at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Physiology. There, I investigated molecular and chromatin related changes in cachectic muscle cells with an emphasis on SUMOylation. I hold an M. Sc. in Molecular Biology and Physiology from the University Greifswald, Germany, and a B. Sc. in Biotechnology from the Berlin University of Applied Sciences, Germany.
