I work as a University Researcher and Head of the Sports and Health Laboratory. I am responsible for organizing laboratory infrastructure and personnel to serve the research projects of the faculty. In addition to tending weekly workflow, I am responsible for planning infrastructure and purchases with faculty board of directors. In addition, I lead my own research group, which investigates the effects of exercise on health and performance at the cellular level. I am interested in how physical activity or acute exercise affects cellular respiration in different tissues. We study e.g. the effect of HDL (high density lipoprotein) on cellular respiration and metabolism of muscle cells and the effect of exercise training on the function of white blood cells.
