Biography

I am a doctoral researcher at the University of Jyväskylä in the research group of Professor Hannu Häkkinen. My research utilizes computational chemistry to investigate the surface charge of gold nanoclusters and its variation under different pH conditions. In particular, I work with constant-pH molecular dynamics simulations.

Research interests

I am interested in gold nanoclusters. Gold nanoclusters have a wide range of biological applications, including bioimaging, drug delivery, and the generation of reactive oxygen species. They are also used in various catalytic processes and for the detection of ions and molecules in environmental chemistry applications. In addition, gold nanoclusters can function as pH-sensitive sensors.

Determining the surface charge of gold nanoclusters is essential for understanding their interactions with surrounding molecules, as well as their solubility and reactivity. This knowledge can be used to design and optimize applications of gold nanoclusters with greater precision and efficiency.
