Biography
I am working as a postdoctoral researcher (part-time) in the Faculty of Education and Psychology at the University of Jyväskylä. My main job is working at Sairaala Nova as an education specialist. I have been working there since graduating with a master's degree in 2007. During the last fifteen years, I have been developing healthcare professional skills and simulation training at the hospital Nova. In recent years I was involved in the SimO project, which aimed to create a high-quality eco-system for virtual and real-world situations for a wide variety of different industries in Finland and around the world. Most recently, I have been creating a research entity “Guidance enhancing professional agency” which is related to digital agency and digital competency, professional agency and guidance skills, all of which are connected by the accelerating digitalization of working life in social services and healthcare.
Research interests
I am working as a postdoctoral researcher (part-time) in the Faculty of Education and Psychology at the University of Jyväskylä. In my dissertation, I investigated and developed guidance practices in surgical training. My research interests are related to professional learning at work and guidance of learning at work. I am particularly interested in medical education and its pedagogical development. I am also interested in learning and guidance in simulated and virtual learning environments, ecpecially in healthcare context. In the last two years I have been involved in the SimO project, which aims to create a high-quality eco-system for virtual and real world situations for a wide variety of different industries in Finland and around the world. My most recent research interests have focused on the digital competence and professional agency of social and health care personnel. My main job is working at Sairaala Nova as an education specialist. I have been working there since graduating with a master's degree in 2007.
