Biography

I am a doctoral researcher at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland.

Research interests

In my doctoral research I investigate the view of the good and virtuous child presented by Finnish children's literature and how literature aimed at children has been utilized to support moral education.

The working title of my dissertation is currently: “Virtuous, civilized and beneficial to the fatherland - moral education in children's magazines in Finland in the late 19th century”. Research focus is on the descriptions of good and virtuous children and bad and vicious children in early Finnish children's magazines and on the moral educations through the stories.

In addition, my research interests is also on sports history and coaching, and I have published articles (2021-2025) and a non-fiction book (2023).
