Biography
Risqo is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Marketing Department at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. He earned his Doctor of Science in Economics and Business Administration (specialization in Marketing) from the University of Jyväskylä in 2025. During his doctoral study, Risqo secured more than €640,000 in competitive funding from several prestigious foundations and governmental institutions, including the Finland Doctoral Fellowship, Business Finland, Marcus Wallenberg Foundation, American Marketing Association, and Liikesivistysrahasto. Risqo teaches several courses at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels, such as Digital Marketing Communication, Introduction to Marketing, and research methodology. He has teaching experience across multiple international contexts, including Finland, Indonesia, and Norway. In addition to classroom teaching, he has mentored students in extracurricular competitions, coaching teams that have won both business plan and poetry writing competitions. Beyond academia, Risqo is a Professional Certified Marketer (PCM®) in Content Marketing, certified by the American Marketing Association. He has also collaborated with various businesses and organizations to support their marketing strategies and achieve their marketing objectives.
Research interests
Risqo’s research interests revolve around digital and social media marketing, with a particular emphasis on how emerging technologies transform marketing practices, organizations, consumption, and markets (keywords: AI-driven marketing, content marketing, and consumer behavior on digital platforms). Methodologically, Risqo uses both quantitative (e.g., online experiments, lab experiments, and content analysis) and qualitative methods in his scholarly works. His publications have gained significant academic attention, including most-read, most-cited, most-downloaded, and trending articles in journals such as Journal of International Marketing, Industrial Marketing Management, and Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics. His research has also been featured in international media outlets such as Mirage News, Tech Xplore, QQ News (China), and AMA Research Insights. In addition to journal publications, Risqo actively disseminates his work at leading international conferences, including the AMA Winter Academic Conference, AMA Global Marketing SIG Conference, European Marketing Academy Conference (EMAC), Global Marketing Conference (GMC), International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), and Australian & New Zealand Marketing Academy Conference (ANZMAC).
