Biography
I am a University Teacher (PhD) of communication at the University of Jyväskylä, Department of Language and Communication Studies. I teach courses at both intermediate and advanced levels. My teaching focuses on interpersonal relationships interpersonal communication, communication competence, leadership communication, and applied working life studies. I also supervise Master's theses in communication and participate in the development of teaching together with the team. My teaching is strongly pedagogical, and I hold comprehensive qualifications in adult education.
I am specialized in workplace relationships and the socialization of newcomers, as well as the construction of belonging through communication.
Research interests
In my research, I want to deepen and create understanding of workplace communication, particularly to support its development, and to challenge established conceptions and conventional ways of conceptualizing in the field of communication research. By integrating theoretical perspectives from both interpersonal and organizational communication, I seek new insights into how communication shapes, and is shaped by, professional communities and everyday work practices.
