Biography

I work as a doctoral researcher on issues related to biodiversity conservation with a grant from Maj and Tor Nessling foundation. I am especially interested in boreal ecosystems and protecting their biodiversity alongside other land-use.

Research interests

In my PhD project I study the implementation practices and outcomes of various conservation regulations from the ecological perspective. I aim to determine whether there is variation in the application of these conservation tools that undermines their effectiveness in safeguarding biodiversity. I examine this from the perspectives of both habitat and species conservation. Given the limited conservation resources, the successful outcome of conservation efforts is particularly important.
