Tarja Orre

I hold a Master of Social Sciences degree in political science from the University of Jyväskylä. In my work, I focus on power, gendered agency, and the formation of political space. I examine how the conditions of civil society are structured and what kinds of gendered, affective, and representational boundaries they produce. Theoretically, I draw on feminist and queer-feminist approaches, emphasizing particularly intersectionality and the politics of embodiment. I work with qualitative methods to analyze how political agency and space emerge through affects, norms, and institutional practices.
