Research interests

Spatio-temporal Bayesian modeling of areal data. Data driven analysis of both historical and modern phenomena. Methods are applied to analyze grain markets during the Finnish famine of the 1860s, the spread of infectious diseases in preindustrial Finland, and the usage of paternal leaves in Finnish municipalities in 2010s.
