Research interests
I'm a behavioural ecologist interested in the general patterns of selection that drive the enormous and beautiful diversity we see in nature. These topics of interest include mate choice and sexual selection, speciation, hybridization and natural selection. In my research, I have worked with fish, such as cyprinids and mosquitofish, as well as insects, such as bushcrickets and dance flies. My current research centers around understanding the co-operative behavior in the sperm of bushcrickets.
