Biography
I am a Lecturer at the Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics. I hold a doctoral degree in Strategy from Aalto University, Finland.
I currently lead the research project “Big Data Leap for Historically Cognizant Management Studies: An Analytical Structured History Approach using a Relational Database” (2023-25), funded by the Emil Aaltonen Foundation. My research explores the intersection of strategy and the firm–state relationship, with particular focus on corporate political strategies, state-owned enterprises, and social movements.
I have broad methodological interests, including historical approaches and computational techniques for natural language processing. I am also a co-organizer of the History in Management and Organization Research Seminar (HiMOS) series, which fosters dialogue on historical perspectives in management studies.
My work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of World Business and Organization Studies. I received the Best Dissertation Award from the Aalto University School of Science in 2020. My conference papers have twice been selected for the Academy of Management Annual Meeting Best Paper Proceedings, and I have been a finalist for both the Douglas Nigh Award (International Management Division, Academy of Management) and the Academy of International Business Best Research Methods Paper Award.
