Complex ripple effects and limitations of AI-human interaction in work, business and society (SYNTHETICA)
The SYNTHETICA consortium explores the complex ripple effects and limitations of AI and human interaction in work, business and societal contexts. The project focuses on modern data-driven organisations through their ICT development and application practices and discursive structures. Ripple effects will be addressed in a cross-cutting way, including technological, human, socio-cultural and communicative dimensions. These dimensions will be explored in three interlinked work packages focusing on artificial intelligence (software), the boundedness of meaning-making (communication) and the interaction between the algorithmic and the human (social network analysis). SYNTHETICA contributes to building a new research paradigm that not only highlights ripple effects of technology but also introduces new ways of discussing them in social, political and scientific contexts.
