Joyful Schools

The "Joyful Schools" project aims to enhance teacher competencies in fostering well-being in primary and lower-secondary education through a new well-being framework, benefiting 800 teachers. Activities included developing a MOOC, conducting certification training in Finland, and hosting "Joyful School Fairs". We have created a well-being framework, curriculum recommendations, a sustainable MOOC, and increased educational community awareness on well-being.

Project description

Active learning strategies for health, well-being and growth mindset!

Our Framework for Holistic Well-being at schools responses to the need to increase understanding of what holistic well-being at schools means. The framework is designed to serve as a basis for developing pre- and in-service teacher training programmes as well as to support school leaders and educational policymakers in their efforts to promote holistic well-being at schools.

We have also launched a research based learning Hub, offering practical guidance to understand what teachers can do for their own and the children's well-being, bringing the existing well-being models close to teachers and encouraging innovation in this field.

In addition to this, we are striving for change at the policy level: Based on our findings in the project, we have developed policy recommendations.
