National Cybersecurity Continuous Learning Cooperation Network
The project is a joint project, with the University of Jyväskylä as the main implementer and the University of Helsinki, LUT University, the University of Oulu, Tampere University, the University of Turku, the University of Vaasa, and Åbo Akademi University as co-implementers.
The project is co-funded by the European Union and the Economic Development Centre of Northern Finland, as part of the Renewing and Skilled Finland 2021–2027 programme, and the project duration is 03/26–10/28.
Project description
Finnish universities educate cybersecurity specialists primarily through degree programmes. However, continuous learning opportunities remain limited in both availability and content. Current university offerings are not easily adaptable for continuous learning, as factors such as course structures, teaching methods, and limited resources hinder the provision of education for individuals seeking to develop their cybersecurity expertise through continuous learning.
During the project, a network of eight Finnish universities will develop measures through which universities’ cybersecurity education could be better integrated into continuous learning offerings.
The main objective of the project is to draw up strategic guidelines in collaboration with the universities, which will enable cybersecurity education to be tailored to the needs of the working life in accordance with the principles of lifelong learning. The project also aims to strengthen inter-university collaboration on strategy development and to develop continuous learning models for different learner groups.
