Health Data Science Reseach Group
The Health Data Science research group studies and develops machine learning models for health and wellbeing. We make extensive use of health data for, among other things, early risk identification, the improvement of diagnostics and care pathways, and the automation of routine tasks. Close collaboration with a broad network ensures that our research outcomes are impactful and relevant.

Research group description
The Health Data Science research group advances health and wellbeing through computational data science and machine learning. We investigate and develop models that integrate heterogeneous health data for early risk identification, improvement of diagnostics and care pathways, and the automation of routine tasks. Our primary aim is to produce rigorous scientific knowledge through method development, validation, and generalizability studies. We collaborate closely with the Central Finland Wellbeing Services County and engage a broad network across healthcare and academia to ensure that our research questions are relevant, ethically sound, privacy-aware, and ultimately transferable to real-world contexts.
