Research group description

The research interest of Marjomäki group is to elucidate the host factors that affect virus stability, or promote viral uncoating and genome release from endosomes. Marjomäki group has a long-established experience on studying the cell biology of human enteroviruses. Recent major focus in the laboratory is to study the mechanistic basis of potential antiviral molecules that have recently been found for enteroviruses and coronaviruses from several molecular and drug screens.
