Open Data Clinic

A practical workshop for describing and opening your research datasets in accordance with the requirements of the university and funders. Suitable for all disciplines.

Research data generated during a study is an important part of the outputs of research and the researcher’s work. Therefore, open availability and visibility of the data—or at least its descriptive metadata—is essential. Important and well-organized datasets can be permanently archived. Making data accessible is, in fact, a key component of research skills!

This workshop explains how to open data: publishing metadata, documentation of the data, or the data itself, as well as long-term archiving of datasets. The workshop is suitable both for those starting to describe their new dataset and for those finalizing it. You will also learn how to make your data searchable and assign it a persistent identifier for citation purposes.
