Winter School of Ecology Schedule
The Winter School of Ecology consists of intensive courses, but the Winter School is not only about studying. Social programme will also be provided, which will enable participants to experience the Finnish nature whilst interacting with students from different cultural backgrounds.
An overview of the schedule of the Winter School 2026 is available below. More detailed information about the programme and schedules will also be sent by email to accepted students.
The course Disease Ecology of Wildlife-originated Zoonoses in the Nordic region: Current Challenges and Emerging Threats will start on Wednesday 11 February in the afternoon at Konnevesi Research Station with some informal programme. The workshop will start in the morning of Thursday 12 February. It is recommended to arrive at the research station on Wednesday 11 February but it is also possible to arrive in the morning of Thursday 12 February. Please check the accommodation options on the Accommodation website. The course ends on Saturday 14 February after breakfast.

Welcome session followed by the scientific program (Day 1). Sauna.
Friday, 13 February
Scientific program (Day 2), expert round-table discussions, banquet dinner, and sauna.
Saturday, 14 February
Breakfast and participant departures
The course Boreal Winter Ecology will start on Monday 16 February at 9.30 am at Konnevesi Research Station. It is also possible to arrive at the research station beforehand on Sunday 15 February. Please check the accommodation options on the Accommodation website. The course ends on Friday 20 February at 3 pm.
