Description of the study module
The business studies program consists of courses in accounting, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and corporate communication, which are key areas of business. The studies provide students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to understand business from different perspectives and in different operating environments. The studies are offered separately in English; in Finnish, they are available through the Open University.

After completing the study module
• you will be able to form an overall picture of business competence and apply what you have learned in practice
• you will be able to identify current issues related to business competence
• you will be able to assess your own interest in different areas of business competence
• you will be able to evaluate business from the perspectives of responsibility and ethics
Study structure
Curriculum, Basic Business Studies
The Basic Business Studies study module is worth of 25 ECTS credits. There are no course-specific prerequisites. Some courses are taught in campus at day time (attendance requirement may vary course by course) and some courses are online teaching courses.

At ILPO registration portal you can create a JYU user ID and register for Basic Business Studies courses.
The price of studies from January 1, 2025, is €20 per ECTS credit.
