Entrepreneurship pathways for students in Jyväskylä offer learning and support at many levels 

Find out what you can do and how you might describe your skills more effectively. Explore different career paths and discover your own perspective on what an entrepreneurial mindset or entrepreneurship could mean for you. An entrepreneurial approach helps you understand how you can create new opportunities for yourself, recognize possibilities around you, and combine your skills into meaningful directions.

The courses, events, and support services within the entrepreneurship pathway help you develop your idea all the way into a business concept—or shape an idea based on your skills and aspirations if you don’t yet have one. In Finland, setting up a company is relatively easy, but making it last and grow over the years is a different challenge. If your business idea needs strengthening or refining, the entrepreneurship pathway also offers suitable courses for that. Through JYU, you will find support for all stages of your idea—whatever your idea may be! For research‑based ideas, there are additional support services worth exploring in more detail in the section dedicated to researchers.

I would like to develop my entrepreneurial skills

The following modules will help you to understand what you can do and how you can articulate your skills to an employer, for example. You will hear about different career paths and develop your own perspective on what an entrepreneurial approach or entrepreneurship could mean for you.  

I am interested in trying entrepreneurship

Are you interested in entrepreneurship but not sure if it's "your thing"? Or you know that entrepreneurship is your thing and you want to come and take your idea forward?

All the same, these courses will help you take your idea forward, even if it's a business idea, or develop an idea if you don't seem to have one yet. Product development funding, on the other hand, will give you the support you need to take your idea forward. 

I am looking for support for my business and/or business idea

If your business idea needs strengthening and refining, these are the courses for you. Keski-Suomen Yritysidea will help anyone developing their business idea and looking to promote it.

In Keski-Suomen Yritysidea you will learn the basics of business during their "How to become an entrepreneur in Finland" -workshop, and then you can start developing your business in earnest in the Entrepreneurship Training.

JYU's research and innovation services will help you, for example, with commercialising your research results and choosing the most suitable operating model for you. 
 

I want to develop my business 

The Startup Factory and Keski-Suomen Yritysidea also open doors to local entrepreneurial networks. After completing the Business Coaching, you can apply for the Startup Factory's funding panel and incubator. JYU's own investment company, Unifund, invests in particularly promising university-based companies and makes venture capital networks available to your business. There are also many other support services for companies in the Central Finland region. Ask us for more information and we will be happy to help!
