The anniversary is celebrated in honour of the Jyväskylä University Foundation's founding day and the recognition of the achievements of the university community.
The exhibition has been curated by a project group consisting of students of art history and art education at the University of Jyväskylä. Now the art exhibition will become a part of Alvar Aalto's architecture at the main building’s passage hall at the Seminaarinmäki campus.
The exhibition focuses on the importance of art in various stages of life. The themes of the artworks cover the whole spectrum of human life from its lights to its shadows. The meanings of the artworks are conveyed through texts based on the artists' personal narratives. For many, making art is a source of strength in everyday life, serving as a means of processing and remembering emotions, but also enabling relaxation and creative play.
The works reflect the relationship between humans and nature, as well as the ephemeral nature of experience. The exhibition highlights the significance of art and the creative process for members of the university community. It invites viewers to take a break and reflect on the significance of art in their lives.
Welcome to enjoy the anniversary art exhibition!
