The ERC, set up by the European Union in 2007, is the premier European funding organisation for excellent frontier research. It funds creative researchers of any nationality and age. ERC projects are among the most competitive research funding calls in the world. What does it take to get ERC funding? What can you do with it? And what is left after the funding runs out? The three panelists are all current or former ERC recipients.

The Seminaarinmäki Campus of the University of Jyväskylä received the European Heritage Label in 2022 for the role the University has played in promoting equal education. In this session, we will hear more about the European Heritage Label, what receiving it has meant for the University and what type of activities are involved. We also hear about an ongoing study that has followed the case from the application phase through the nomination to its current phase.

It has become increasingly important for all researchers as an opportunity for greater public engagement and democratisation of science. The Finnish Metagallery

The Finnish National Gallery was the first Finnish museum to open an exhibition space in the metaverse – a 3D virtual world – in October 2022. Eiramo will discuss their digital programme and the possibilities that digital tools and virtual worlds create for museums and heritage actors.
