This seminar offers an exciting opportunity to hear directly from true science communication experts. Our invited guests from The Finnish Nature Panel and The Finnish Climate Change Panel will share their perspectives on the topic and provide tools for participating in societal discussions about sustainability transition. You will also get to practice your communication skills. Laura Ticklén and Sanna Autere have extensive experience in turning research into knowledge that genuinely impacts society and informs political decision‑making. They can teach us not only how to write effectively, but also how to ensure that information reaches the right people, the media, and the wider public.
This workshop will have all materials in English but the teaching will be in Finnish (you can participate and discuss in English or Finnish).
What is the sustainability transformations seminar course?
This open seminar is part of a cross-disciplinary seminar course WISJ1000 Sustainability Transformations seminar for doctoral researchers. The course offers a collaborative, peer-supported learning environment where participants develop both research-related competencies and broader transferable skills essential for academic and societal engagement. It’s also a great opportunity to network with fellow researchers across disciplines and to learn how to communicate your work to audiences from different academic backgrounds.
