How to write a good application
Miguel Baltazar Soares

Competition for funding is currently at its peak with numbers of submitted proposals (especially for Early Career Researchers) reaching all-time highs both nationally and internationally. To be competitive, one must fully abandon the perception that writing a research proposal is something that can be done on a whim, in a short amount of time, or without thoughtful preparation.
In this presentation, and on top of the general and soft-skill oriented tips, I will address perhaps less conventional aspects on “how to write a good proposal”. By offering you perspectives that transcend the research-focused contents of an application, I will bring forth a strategic dimension to the writing process that will (hopefully) help you to become conscious of the required competitive mindset behind a successful application.

“Horizon Europe is the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation. Following the Multiannual Financial Framework Midterm Review (MTR) decision, the indicative funding amount for Horizon Europe for the period 2021-2027 is EUR 93.5 billion”
In this presentation I will describe the Horizon Europe programme with the focus on pilar 2, EIC and Partnership calls. After the presentation you should have a better understanding of the things that you have to keep in mind your mind when you are writing a consortium application.
