Nature Photographs of the Year -competition and exhibition bring the Finnish nature to light in all it's glory and diversity. The competition is organized by the Finnish Nature Photographers’ Association (SLV). The yearly competition has been arranged since 1981, and all nature photographers are welcome to take part in it.

735 photographers took part in the competition in 2025 with over 12 000 photographs. The Nature Photograph of the Year 2025 title was awarded to Ossi Saarinen’s unique image of a lynx, Paws. According to the judges, the photograph breaks the traditional definition of a nature photograph and it really stood out from the rest of the photographs applied to the competition.
