We are looking for students to test a pilot course on Finnish working life

We are developing a Start to Finnish—Working Life pilot course in collaboration with Akava (the Confederation of Unions for Professional and Managerial Staff in Finland), the University of Helsinki, the University of Oulu, HAMK and Xamk Universities of Applied Science. The course development is now in the phase where we would like to get student feedback on the Start to Finnish online study platform.

Would you like to participate in the course development and learn about Finnish working life and its nuances? This learning experience is designed for students eager to understand the nuances of the culture, practices, and legislation of working in Finland.

Why should I volunteer?

- Prepare for the future by deepening your understanding of the Finnish work environment
- Flexible learning that fits around your schedule, accessible anywhere with an internet connection
- Certificate of completion, showcasing your initiative and willingness to learn beyond the traditional curriculum
- Chance to win gift certificates: Participants who complete the course testing have a chance to win one of two €50 gift cards

Your feedback and insights on the pilot course will be extremely valuable as we prepare for its launch in the term 2024 - 2025.

Course Duration & Structure

The pilot of the course will run from weeks 14 through 20. Each week, a new learning module will be unlocked, allowing you to delve into different stages of career development at your own pace. Even though there are no joint lectures during the course, you can connect with peers from five different universities or universities of applied sciences in Finland. The course encourages discussion, sharing experiences, and using AI to connect these discussions. All discussions are moderated, and your privacy has been taken into account.

Requirements for Participation

You can participate in the pilot course at any stage of your studies. You only need an internet connection, mobile device or computer access, and an interest in learning more about Finnish working life.
