Welcome to the garbage collection walk! The idea of the walk is to collect any litter that falls along the walk. This will improve fitness and the environment will thank you. The walk is suitable for all ages, regardless of fitness level. Two hours of weekly working time for physical exercise can be used to collect rubbish.

The garbage collection walk starts on Wednesday 22.5.2024 at 14:00 from the top of the Ylistönrinne stairs. The walk will take about an hour and will end at Mattilanniemi, where you can enjoy ice cream if you wish. You only need gloves and an empty trash bag.

The garbage collection walk is part of Yle's Million Garbage Bags campaign, in which the University of Jyväskylä also participates. The University of Jyväskylä's goal is to collect 100 bags of rubbish. Those who collect the most rubbish will be rewarded with a local food dinner for 8 people at Hakamaa's Lammastila restaurant. To take part in the competition, please enter the number of rubbish bags you have collected in the form https://forms.office.com/e/aqpK97w9WD. This will tell us how many rubbish bags have been collected at the University of Jyväskylä.

The campaign will contain a number of social media posts. Share your own post by the project partners. Use tags in social media: #KestäväMuovisuhde, #Miljoonaroskapussia, #plastlife, #muovitiekartta and @uniofjyvaskyla.
