Confirm your study place

After being accepted to study in a degree programme, you will have to accept your study place. If you have been offered scholarship, you need to formally accept it by the given deadline.

Study place confirmation

After receiving the information of being accepted to study in a degree programme at JYU, you will have to accept your study place in the Studyinfo (Opintopolku in Finnish) portal by 9 July 2026 at 3.00 p.m. (EEST). It is not possible to accept the study place after this deadline. If you have a My Studyinfo account (requires Finnish online banking credentials, or a Finnish electronic ID Card or Mobile ID), please log into your account to accept your study place. If you don't have a My Studyinfo account, you will receive a secure link by email, through which you can accept your study place on Studyinfo. If you have saved your Finnish personal identity code on Studyinfo but you don't have a My Studyinfo account, please contact the Admission Services (admissions@jyu.fi) in order to accept your study place.

Please take into account the one study place per term provision of Finnish higher education. This means that after accepting a study place, you cannot accept another study place for studies that start during the same academic term (e.g. autumn term 2026) in any Finnish higher education institution. After you have accepted an offer in Studyinfo, you cannot cancel it or change your choice. Therefore, if you have been accepted to more than one programme in Finnish higher education, please make sure to consider carefully before accepting a study place.

You can register for attendance or non-attendance at the university only after accepting your study place on Studyinfo. 

If you are liable to pay tuition fees and you have accepted your study place within 14 days after receiving your Letter of Admission, you are eligible for a one-time 1500 EUR Early Bird discount. We will confirm your eligibility and send you an Early Bird certificate after you have requested the tuition fee payment instructions following the steps below. 

Request tuition fee payment instructions (if applicable)

If you are liable to pay tuition fees, you must request payment instructions via the HelpJYU portal. In the form: 

  • Fill in your personal information
  • Select "admitted applicant"
  • Add your Learner ID (you can find it in your Letter of Admission)
  • Select "Tuition fee payment instructions request" as the subject of your question or inquiry
  • Select the date on which you have received your Letter of Admission
  • Select the date on which you have accepted your study place on Studyinfo.
  • Write the degree programme you have been admitted to in the field "describe your question or inquiry in detail".  
  • Click "submit". 

HelpJYU form
