Support and guidance for students and academics
The University of Jyväskylä provides support and guidance for students and academics who have been forced to flee Ukraine due the attack by Russia. You can read here more about our services:
Open university of the University of Jyväskylä (JYUOpen) offers MOOC’s focusing for example on Finnish education system and environmental sciences. The online courses are free of charge:

University offers also general guidance for migrants interested in higher education, applying to degree programmes, studying short courses or preparing their application to the degree recognition by the National Agency of Education. Erasmus+ studies
JYU supports Ukraine also through the allocation of Erasmus+ funding for exchange students coming to JYU from Ukraine. Taking into consideration the wishes of our Ukrainian partner universities, student exchange is arranged in the framework of bilateral Erasmus+ exchange agreements between universities.
You can apply to the University of Jyväskylä as an Erasmus student if you study at Franko National University of Lviv, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy or Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics and your home university has nominated you to study at JYU. Free movers outside the existing Erasmus agreements are not considered for Erasmus student exchange at JYU. Read more >>
Doctoral studies and scientific research
The Finnish National Board of Education may award EDUFI Fellowship grants to foreign researchers to start their doctoral studies. If you are interested in doing scientific research at the University of Jyväskylä, please contact the professors of the department closest to your field. After that, Research and Innovation Services will help you apply for funding.
