At its meeting on 3 November 2025, the Jyväskylä City Council decided to sell the majority share of Jamk University of Applied Sciences to the University of Jyväskylä, in accordance with the University’s earlier purchase offer.

Voting in JYY’s Representative Council election is open on October 30th-31st and November 3rd-6th. Voting is open from 8 am to 8 pm, except on the last day of voting on November 6th, when the voting system is available until 6 pm.

The University of Jyväskylä is discontinuing the Mailman email list service previously in use. Microsoft 365 Groups will be introduced to replace the service. The goal is to complete the email list service renewal during 2025.

As of 1 November 2025, the University of Jyväskylä will become an ordinary member of the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL).

The University of Jyväskylä’s acquisition offer for the shares of Jamk University of Applied Sciences Ltd and a potential transaction will be considered by the Jyväskylä City Board on 27 October 2025.
