The Faculty of Information Technology is creating a science-based digital future for society through education, research and stakeholder collaboration.

JYU's pioneering Faculty of Information Technology is the second largest in Finland.

A world built on information technology needs academically trained IT experts.

Information technology is nowadays integrated everywhere. It is the unseen and ubiquitous intelligence of our daily lives. IT has changed practically every aspect of how we live, from business and leadership to education, health care and well-being, from communication and science to the arts and sports. It offers nearly limitless opportunities but also poses challenges for individuals and society. Here in the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Jyväskylä, we train versatile IT experts for the needs of today as well as for the future.

We are currently investing in creating concentrations of top expertise in the following thematic areas: data systems, scientific computing and data analysis, cyber security, well-being, and learning.

We also offer three international master’s degree programmes: Information Systems, High-Performance Computing, and Artificial Intelligence. These programmes are fully delivered in English.

Strategic development programmes of the Faculty of Information Technology
