At the Faculty of Information Technology, we integrate technological, informational, organizational and business perspectives alongside a human approach into our research. Our research is also characterized by close collaboration with businesses, other universities and research institutes, and the public sector. Our goal is international excellence in research quality.

Our research activity is arranged into research teams that focus on four main areas of study. We are currently studying topics such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, cyber security, educational use of technology and multi-objective optimization.

The Digital Health Intelligence Laboratory aims to develop smart, data-driven solutions to real-world problems that are central to promoting the health and well-being of people.

CyberSecLab

CyberSecLab focuses on researching cybersecurity-related techniques that enable one to respond to various sorts of cyberthreats and cyberattacks.

Human Technology Hub (HTHub)

The Faculty of Information Technology’s lab Human Technology Hub (HTHub) aims to strengthen the faculty’s already strong knowledge through new innovative technology.

Spectral Imaging Laboratory

The research of the Spectral Imaging Laboratory combines hyperspectral imaging and image data analysis with state-of-the-art methods in modeling, simulation and machine learning.

Finnish Hub for Digitalization (FHDi)

Finnish Hub for Digitalization is a research and education powerhouse for digitalization and digital innovation.

Drive-In Lab

The Drive-In laboratory is used to examine drivers’ attention as well as test how the information and entertainment systems of cars affect inattention in traffic.
