Natural History Museum for visiting groups
We organise guided tours and study visits to the Natural History Museum. Guided tours and study visits should always be reserved at least two weeks in advance. The maximum size of a guided group is 25 persons per guide.
Booking a group visit to the Natural History Museum
- Please book a visit for your group in advance even if your group is visiting our exhibitions self-guided.
- Day care and school groups can also book a visit to the museum on Tue-Fri mornings from 8 am to 11 am.
- You can make a reservation by phone or email.
- Please remember to inform the museum in advance if you need to cancel your visit. Cancellation policy stated below.
Guided tours
- Please book your tour well in advance, at least two weeks before your visit.
- Our guided tours last approx. 45 min for adults and 30 min for kids under 12 years old. If you are arriving late, it is important to note that this will shorten the tour.
- The maximum size of a guided group is 25 persons per guide. Daycare groups up to 15 persons per guide. Larger groups can be divided into two groups.
Prices
- For Jyväskylä area schools and day care centers the guided tours are free of charge during weekdays (Tue-Fri) from 8 am to 4 pm.
- For the groups of the Jyväskylä University and the Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences (Jamk) members, the guided tours are free of charge on weekdays (Tue-Fri) from 12am to 4pm.
- For Jyväskylä area integration, disabled and elderly services groups the guided tours are free of charge on weekdays (Tue-Fri) from 12am to 4pm.
- For other groups the guided tours from Tue-Fri from 12pm to 4pm are 80 €/group, in the evenings and weekends 90 €/group (prices including VAT).
- During our normal opening hours you can visit the Natural History Museum on your own free of charge. Please remember to book a visiting time for your group also in this case.
Cancellation policy
- Reserved guided tours and self-guided tours outside service hours should be cancelled 5 days before the reserved time.

- Reserved guided tours and self-guided tours outside service hours will be charged according to our price list, if they are not cancelled 5 days in advance.
- Cancellation terms apply also for free groups.
