Exhibition Centre Soihtu and and Tissari Art Collection are located in Seminarium Building.
Soihtu Exhibition Centre is open for visitors:
- Wed to Fri 12 am to 5 pm
- Sat 12 am to 4 pm
The Tissari collection is open to the public only when Tissari hall is not being used for teaching.
Soihtu Exhibition Centre is located in Seminarium, S Building, on the Seminaarinmäki Campus area. Guided tours for groups via advance booking can be arranged also outside opening hours. The fee for guided tours outside opening hours is 80 euros.

The Exhibition Centre Soihtu provides you an introduction to the history of the University of Jyväskylä and its predecessors. The permanent exhibition gives you knowledge of the cultural-history continuum of the University of Jyväskylä.
The Art Collection donated by lawer Jorma Tissari is on display in the Seminarium Building too. The collection represents Finnish mordernism of the 13 different artists of the 1900s.
The Exhibition Centre has also a gallery called Kipinä for changing exhibitions. To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Jyväskylä University Museum, the Kipinä Gallery is hosting an exhibition from 10 September 2025 to 31 January 2026, Artefacts from students' home regions: then and now.
Guided tours and study visits should always be reserved in advance. Each tour can be designed individually to meet your wishes.
The guided tours are free of charge during the opening hours of the Exhibition Center. Outside opening hours, the price for a tour is 80 € / hour / group up to 30 people. Please book a tour two weeks prior to your visit.
