AIware at ESIA Summer School 2026
ESIA (European School Innovation Academy) hosted multiple summer school events for educators, school leaders and policymakers during June and July 2026. AI Horizons in Education was one of their summer school courses and took place near Athens, Greece during the 5th - 10th of July. The aim of the course was to update teachers’ AI knowledge. Around 12 teachers participated, mainly from Greece and Italy. Most of them were already familiar with AI and had used it as a tool for education.
Members of the AIware project, including Kati Clement and Antti Ruonala from JYU, taught participants how to create an AI agent using ChatGPT, Co-pilot or Gemini. They also talked about the AI readiness of schools. Participants told them that many Greek schools don’t have a proper AI plan yet.
