Applications to extend the duration of studies will be subject to a fee and the re-registration fee will increase from 1 January 2025
Students must pay the re-registration fee if they fail to register for attendance or non-attendance. The increase in fees is based on an amendment to the Government decree on fees for university services 199/2024, Section 4.
The processing fee will be charged for all applications to extend the duration of studies submitted on or after 1 January 2025. Applications submitted in 2024 are free of charge. Instructions for paying the processing fee for extension applications will be updated on the student websites before the turn of the year. The payment facility for applications will become part of the Vasara process. The University’s policy on handling extension applications will be updated by the end of the year. On 25 November 2024, the vice rector decided on the principles for handling the applications in accordance with the Universities Act. The vice rector’s decision is available on the Dynasty case management system.
The amendments to the Government decree on fees for university services aim to harmonise the payment practices of universities and universities of applied sciences. The universities of applied sciences have already started to charge a fee for processing applications to extend the duration of studies.
