In our six faculties, you can deepen your knowledge in education, sports and health sciences, natural sciences, information technology, business, and humanities and social sciences. JYU's English-taught bachelor's and master's programmes are conducted as on-campus studies. There are a total of 530 study places available in the degree programmes. The studies for the bachelor's and master's programmes start in August 2026.

JYU’s new international bachelor's programme, Immersive Software Engineering and AI (180 ECTS), is open for applications for the first time in January 2026. In this programme, students will grow into skilled technology developers through immersive project-based learning. The curriculum includes studies in software engineering, artificial intelligence, mathematics, entrepreneurship, business, and Finnish language, society and culture. This programme also features two four-month internships in companies developing modern IT systems.

After completing the bachelor’s programme, you may pursue a Master of Science degree in one of the English-taught master’s degree programmes of the Faculty of Information Technology without having to apply for a new right to study.

Tuition fees, scholarships and Early bird

Every year, over 1,000 international students study at the University of Jyväskylä, with about half enrolled in English-taught degree programmes and the rest in doctoral programmes or as exchange students. Degree students who are not citizens of EU/EEA countries or Switzerland must pay a tuition fee for their studies.

In the admission round 2026, there is no university-level scholarship available for the first year of studies. For the second year (and the third year in the case of bachelor’s programmes), students who are liable to pay tuition fees have the right to apply for a scholarship that covers part of the fee.

However, JYU offers an early bird discount to those who accept their study place within a specified timeframe. An Early Bird discount of 1500 euros is available for applicants liable to pay tuition fees. This is a reward for students' commitment to JYU: students can take advantage of the offer by accepting their study place within 14 days after receiving their letter of admission by following the instructions provided by JYU.
