Educational development needs in Game Studies and Game Development Education recognized

University of Jyväskylä and the Department of Music, Art and Culture Studies is participating in an Erasmus+ funded project GAMEHIGHED (2019-2022), which aims to develop education in the field of game design and development by creating curricula for degree programmes as well as open educational resources (OER). The first project output is now ready.
The report consisting of an overview of current curricula and collaboration with the game industry, and prospects for development for each institution. It also outlines the country-specific contexts of the national higher-ed system, the game industry, and game development organisations and communities. We are open to collaboration with universities and other educational institutions interested in testing, implementing, or co-creating educational resources in the next stages of the project.
