Explore Asia through summer online courses – Asianet offers a wide range of study options
A diverse overview of Asia
This year’s course selection includes both introductory courses at the basic level and more advanced studies. New courses on offer include, among others:
- Introduction to Central Asia (3 ECTS)
- K-pop as a Global Phenomenon (2 ECTS)
In addition, several introductory-level courses are available:
- Introduction to Business in Asia (3 ECTS)
- Johdatus Etelä-Aasiaan (3 ECTS)
- Johdatus Itä-Aasiaan (3 ECTS)
- Johdatus Kaakkois-Aasiaan (3 ECTS)
- Introduction to Chinese History (5 ECTS)
In advanced studies, students can explore topics such as urban development and politics in greater depth:
- Urban East Asia (3 ECTS)
- Introduction to Chinese Contemporary History (5 ECTS)
- Introduction Mongolian Politics and Society (2 ECTS)
During the summer it is also possible to complete ReConnect China online courses, which focus on China and its international role:
- Introduction to Chinese Politics and Society (3 ECTS)
- Introduction to EU-China Relations (3 ECTS)
- Introduction to Chinese Economy (3 ECTS)
- Introduction to Chinese Popular Culture (3 ECTS)
Students can also combine courses into broader study modules. For example, by combining introductory and advanced-level courses, it is possible to build two different minor study options: a Mini Minor (10 ECTS) or the Asian Programme (25 ECTS). You can read more about the minor programmes here.
