What is the sustainability studies network? 

The Sustainability Studies Network is a collaborative teaching platform formed by 11 Finnish higher education institutions. Together, they offer a unique opportunity for degree, doctoral, and exchange students to study sustainability through a variety of lenses, including climate science and biodiversity to business, technology, education, and more. 

All courses are free for students from the member institutions, and they are available in both Finnish and English. 

Application periods and process 

The registration for autumn and spring is now open and will end on 14th of August 2025. To register: 

  1. Fill out the registration form from the partner universities online. 

  2. Get your user credentials to access the systems and library databases. 

  3. Register for courses. 

  4. After the courses end, transfer the credit to your degree by downloading the transcript and delivering it to JYU.
