Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2026: seven JYU disciplines among the world’s best

Mathematics remained in the 76–100 range, the highest ranking in Finland in this field. Psychology also rose to position 76–100, which is also the best ranking in Finland.

Seven disciplines from the University of Jyväskylä achieved the global top 500 ranking. Communication research was ranked 101–150, and education 151–200. Ecology and physics were placed 301–400, while management was placed 401–500.

Over 7,000 universities were included in the comparison, of which around 2,000 from 100 countries were included in the list. The ranking considered factors such as the quality of research, international cooperation, publications in top journals, and significant academic awards.
