Irene Ylönen appointed director of the Open Science Centre of the University of Jyväskylä
Ylönen has served as the deputy director of the Open Science Centre since 1 March 2022, and as acting director since 16 November 2023. Previously she worked as the service manager responsible for, among other tasks, the acquisition of data materials and as an information specialist in the University of Jyväskylä Library and Open Science Centre.
Ylönen has extensive experience of the services of the Open Science Centre. Her core competencies include experience in HR management in the academic community as a manager as well as a proven track record in development of services. Her role as the acting director of the Open Science Centre has strengthened Ylönen’s management experience.

She also has a clear view on future challenges and a vision of how the services of the Open Science Centre should be developed.”

The Open Science Centre is a unique collaboration between the Jyväskylä University Library and University Museum. About 70 people work at the centre. The Centre provides expert and up-to-date library and museum services, as well as support services for open science and research, both at its service points and online.
