JYU and UCLA strengthen their collaboration through a memorandum of understanding
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) establishes a framework for cooperation in areas of shared interest and expertise between the faculties. In the future, this cooperation may include, for example, joint research projects, sharing research findings, and participating in postgraduate training. Opportunities are also envisaged for student, teacher and scholar exchanges.
Cooperation may be further developed through, among other things, teacher exchanges in teacher education and research into young people’s use of social media, media education and social media literacy.
“We are very happy to have the opportunity to deepen our collaboration with UCLA. Our shared interests and expertise in research and education provide an excellent foundation for an international partnership that will benefit researchers, students and educational communities in both countries,” says Professor Marja-Kristiina Lerkkanen, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Psychology at the University of Jyväskylä.
