JYU is ranked among the top 3% of universities worldwide in the 2026 CWUR rankings
The CWUR ranking evaluates universities based on factors such as quality of education, graduate employability, and research performance – all directly shaping students’ learning experience and future opportunities.
Only the top 2,000 universities receive a detailed position in the ranking, placing JYU within a globally competitive group of institutions.
Among Finnish universities, the University of Jyväskylä ranked 7th, within a national higher education system that consistently performs strongly in international comparisons. In Europe, JYU was ranked 254th.
The results highlight the University of Jyväskylä’s continued commitment to high-quality teaching, impactful research, and strong graduate outcomes. Together, these form the foundation of a learning environment where students are supported in building the knowledge, skills, and perspectives needed to succeed in an international context.
The CWUR ranking has been published annually since 2012 and is considered one of the largest global university rankings.
