JYU provides the atmospheric Old Forge for marriage ceremonies during Jyväskylä Pride week
Are you and your partner thinking about getting married, but haven't decided on a venue and time yet? Now is the perfect opportunity to celebrate love in the picturesque setting of Seminaarinmäki campus, as the university's Old Forge will be opened for the university community's marriage ceremonies during JKL Pride week.
During the JKL Pride week, the Forge is free of charge when at least one of the bookers is a member of the university community, i.e. a student, staff member, grant researchers or other member of the university community. All couples are welcome, regardless of gender and sexual orientation!
Reserving the Old Forge
The maximum duration of a booking is 3 hours. Reservations can be made during the opening hours of the space: Mon-Fri 8-18, Sat 9-16 and Sun 11-16.
The room has 30 seats. You can decorate the space how you wish, but you must make and take down the decorations within the time limit of the reservation. Couples are responsible for arranging their own preferred officiant.
To reserve the facility, please use the form on HelpJYU (Services and guidance > For Staff > Facility Services > Facility Reservation). Select "Normal invoicing" as the invoicing method, and add the University of Jyväskylä as the invoicing address and "Pride-viikon vihkiminen" as the reference. The Old Forge can be booked for events all year round
